These FAQs cover everything from order logistics to holster design specifics.
Orders are shipped out in three business days (M-F) or less.
Yes! As a lefty myself, I am happy to provide holsters for those of us that are backwards-handed.
There are many opinions on why or why not you should have a sweat guard on your holster.
Firstly, most modern firearms use a finish that is reasonably resistant to corrosion. That, combined with minimal maintenance on your firearm, means that corrosion from sweat is not likely.
Secondly, if you train a lot with your carry gun (which you should be doing often), you'll quickly discover how uncomfortable that top edge of the sweat guard is as it digs into your abdomen whenever your pistol is out of the holster. Yes, some people who are wire-thin won't have as big of an issue with this, but most people will. My holsters are purpose-built for comfort and concealability. Hard edges that stab you in the gut when you bend over to pick up a dropped magazine will detract from this feature.
If you really, really, really want a sweat guard on your holster, I'll cut one in. You just have to request one.
If it's something I can find at my kydex suppliers and you don't mind waiting a little longer, absolutely. Check out H3 Customs for a list of available custom patterns. Please note that I might have the pattern you want in stock, but if not you'll need to allow a few extra days for shipping times. I do keep some of the more popular patterns like Multicam, Carbon Fiber, FDE, and Topo on-hand. Just ask!
All Shepherd Concealment holsters are backed with a lifetime warranty against all defects and damages that are unintentional. Think of it as a "Vortex Optics Warranty". It's simple:
If you're one of those guys that's super hard on gear and six months later you find a crack in your sight channel, let me know.
Leave it on your dash board in your truck in 110 degree weather and it gets a little warped?
Hit me up.
Run it over after forgetting it on your truck tailgate? Covered.
Dog decided it would make a good chew toy? Shoot me a message (and call your vet).
Ran it through a chop saw because you wanted to see how strong kydex is? Probably not, though I admire your scientific mind.
Unused holsters may be returned on an honor system: if you say it's unused, I'll take your word for it. Expect a full refund minus a 5% restocking fee (covers the processing fees I'll pay when sending your money back). Refunds will be issued once the holster has been received and checked over for any obvious signs of use.
"Used" is defined as anything that causes visible wear (such as top edge marks from repeated drawing/reholstering). If you try it on at home and decide it isn't for you, it isn't "used". Basically, if I can't resell it as a new holster, I can't give you a full refund.
Custom patterns are typically not returnable other than in special circumstances.
Don't be afraid to ask; worst I'll say is no.
